Chicago Bears @ Miami Dolphins
This game already happened and I had the Bears even though I hate Jay Cutler because of stuff like this. Miami had bad luck last week when they lost Chad Pennington and Chad Henne. It was going to take a miracle for Tyler Thigpen to be ready for what the Bears defense had in store for him.
Pick: Chicago Bears
Baltimore Ravens @ Carolina Panthers
I am taking the Ravens because Carolina sucks this season plus they are starting Brian Saint Pierre, this guy has 12 total passing yards in the NFL.
Pick: Baltimore Ravens
Houston Texans @ New York Jets
Where do I begin on this game? I am a huge Texans fan but the last couple of games have been painful and stressful to watch. I still don’t understand why they don’t keep running the ball in the second half! Arian Foster was killing San Diego in the first half and for some reason the coach decided to go away from the run and it cost them the game. Foster didn’t help matters when they called back that touchdown because the ball came out of his hand when he landed in the end zone. I think that is a stupid NFL rule he clearly had the ball across the line and in control until it hit the turf. Calvin Johnson from the Detroit Lions had a similar play earlier in the season and they lost the game because it was taken away. The Jets defense is scary good but it will be up to their offense to determine the game because I believe the Texan offense has enough weapons to put up numbers on the board. I am not sure if Mark Sanchez and the offense have it but the way the Texans’ defense has played lately he might have a career day.
Pick: Houston Texans (picking my team, I have to!)
Arizona Cardinals @ Kansas City Chiefs
Kurt Warner retires and the Cardinals are left with some not so talented quarterbacks. Matt Leinart did himself a disservice by complaining to the media about playing time in the pre-season he could have been starting now, instead he is the third string quarterback for my Texans. On the other hand you have a Chiefs team that has turned some heads except for the butt whooping the Broncos laid on them last week. I think Todd Haley the KC coach should have just shaken McDaniels’ hand (Denver coach) last week. McDaniels is a lot like Lane Kiffin, cocky. I don’t like either but Haley should just have shaken the dudes hand and next time they play remind his players of that game.
Pick: Kansas City Chiefs
Washington Redskins @ Tennessee Titans
Redskins fans are wondering if Donovan McNabb will lead them to the playoffs this season. I like McNabb but I don’t get why he got that much money if he hasn’t really done much in Washington but according to this article from The Washington Post it makes sense. Then you have the talented Vince Young and the Tennessee Titans. I believe they have the potential to be really good but it all boils down to how VY plays. I saw him play for Madison High School in Houston when I was a senior. He was always scrambling but he could launch that football. I think with the addition of Randy Moss he should try to go deep a lot more. Chris Johnson is no where near putting the same number of yards rushed as last year but he is still a weapon that the Redskin defense should try to contain.
Pick: Tennessee Titans
Buffalo Bills @ Cincinnati Bengals
This will be an interesting from two teams that have not had much success this season but one of them will get to add a win to their record.
Pick: Buffalo Bills
Oakland Raiders @ Pittsburgh Steelers
“Just Win Baby!” The Raiders are not the irrelavent team they have been for the past couple of seasons. The addition of Jason Campbell and the good play of Darren McFadden has given this team a certain spark this season. The Raiders are now able to compete and not just show up and get blasted, credit the release of former LSU Quarterback Jamarcus Russell(who by the way is getting a look from the Miami Dolphins). In order to win this game the Raiders will need to have an answer for James Harrison and the Pittsburgh defense. I don’t see it happening plus Big Ben is going to pick apart the Raiders defense.
Pick: Pittsburgh Steelers
Cleveland Browns @ Jacksonville Jaguars
Colt McCoy will make his fourth NFL start on Sunday. He has a record of 2-1 as a started that could have been 3-0 had it not been for a couple of mistakes in the Browns’ overtime loss to the Jets last week. I don’t think the Browns or McCoy have the weapons for prime time yet. The Jaguars are coming off a win after a crazy last second Hail Mary touchdown last week against the Texans. That play made me angry because I was sure there would be overtime but no somehow Quinn Glover of the Texans slapped the ball right to Mike Thomas. Lame!
Pick: Jacksonville Jaguars
Detroit Lions @ Dallas Cowboys
This game will be very competitive but I think that Jason Garrett has the Dallas players actually playing the way they should have been playing since the beginning of the season.
Pick: Dallas Cowboys
Green Bay Packers @ Minnesota Vikings
Farve Bowl IV is to be played in Minnesota. I still can’t believe Brad Childress bet his job on Brett Farve’s play. I guess high risk, high reward except if the risk doesn’t pay off. Aaron Rodgers is a solid Quarterback and he has a good surrounding cast which makes him even better. I don’t think the Vikings defense will be able to stop the Packers but that depends on how the front four rushers do.
Pick: Green Bay Packers
Seattle Seahawks @ New Orleans Saints
The return of Reggie Bush is a game-time decision for the game against the Seahawks. I don’t like Pete Carrol as an NFL coach but I bet Reggie loved him as a college coach!
Pick: New Orleans Saints
Atlanta Falcons @ Saint Louis Rams
Sam Bradford has panned out for the Rams and with Steven Jackson in the backfield plus whatever new talent they bring in for next season they will be decent in two to three years. However, they will get beat by the falcons because they have too much ammo on offense. Matt Ryan and Roddy White seem to be clicking on all cylinders plus their running backs love to pound the ball down defenses’ throats.
Pick: Atlanta Falcons
Tampa Bay Buccaneers @ San Fransisco 49rs
Former Kansas State Quarterback Josh Freeman seems to be developing quite well for the Buccaneers. I have seem him play a couple of games on television and he doesn’t seem to get rattled when it’s crunch time. San Fransisco has been a huge dissapointment this season but really since they drafted Alex Smith. The good thing is that their starting quarterback Troy Smith has stepped up and provided them with some good play.
Pick: Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Indianapolis Colts @ New England Patriots
Where do I even begin? This is going to be a really good game. I know Peyton Manning would love nothing more than to beat New England. I also know that the way Tom Brady played last week it is going to be tough for the Colts to beat the Patriots. I still think that the Patriots wouldn’t have won all of those Super Bowls had they not stole signals from other teams. Case and point they haven’t won it since they got busted!
Pick: Indianapolis Colts (somehow I think Manning will carry his team to a victory)
New York Giants @ Philadelphia Eagles
This will be the Mike Vick show, believe that. I bet the Giants front four will try to disrupt that from happening but after the video game-like performance Vick had last week I don’t see how they will be able to stop him.
Pick: Philadelphia Eagles
Denver Broncos @ San Diego Chargers
I think Philip Rivers is a good quarterback and he is on my fantasy team so I am hoping he has a monster game. The Broncos might have put on a whooping to their rival Kansas City Chiefs but I don’t see them scoring that many points for a long time. Kyle Orton needs to get in a rhythm and Knowshon Moreno needs to play the way he did last week in order for the Broncos to have a chance.
